Planning a block party can be so much fun. This is a chance to get to know the new neighbors, and spend time with the neighbors you don't see as much as you'd like. Block parties also work well because everyone can share in the food prep and planning. Have everyone bring a dish and a game, and you have everything you need, almost. You should also strongly consider renting a portable toilet or two. Here's a closer look.
Why is a portable toilet needed at a block party?
Block parties can attract a lot of people. You may not want to just leave your home open for any of these people to use the bathroom. And even if you are comfortable doing so, many of your neighbors may not be. If you rent a portable toilet, then there will be somewhere convenient for party-goers to "go" if they don't feel like going all of the way back to their own homes. You won't have to worry about someone going inside with their shoes on and ruining the carpet.
Where do you rent portable toilets?
In most areas, there are at least a couple of companies that rent out portable toilets. You just give them a call, tell them what you need and when you need it, and they come drop the toilet off. Make sure you ask them to pick it up the next day. This way, you won't have a used and dirty portable toilet sitting around for days after your block party.
How many toilets do you need?
That depends on how big you expect your block party to be! For a reasonably sized block party, you can usually get away with one. After all, some people will be really close to their homes and may choose to walk home and use their own bathrooms. If you live on a really big block, you may want to add a second toilet. You may also want a second toilet if you think there will be a lot of kids at the party. Kids don't love waiting in line for too long, and having a second toilet should shorten the wait.
A portable toilet is always a good addition to a block party. Just make sure you have it placed out of the way. Contact a portable bathroom rental company in your area to learn more, or to get a price.
